YMCA Northshore - Woodin Elementary

Observation

Unique Zier reported that on July 7, 2022, there were not enough staff supervising at the time of the incident. Ms. Zier reported she did not observe a child choking another child on the playground. Ms. Zier reported she became aware of the incident when the children informed her. Ms. Zier reported on the morning when the incident occurred, there were not enough staff to break the children into groups, therefore they had to remain in a large group outdoor until substitute staff showed up. Ms. Zier reported at the time of the incident there were two staff with approximately 40 children, as one staff left to use the bathroom. Ms. Zier reported this child had a YMCA Individual Care Plan and was aware of his behavioral issues prior to his enrollment.
